Description
Inspired by Chinese jewelry inlaid with kingfisher feathers, this tiara features butterflies, gingko leaves, and lotus blossoms.
I recommend printing the file on cardstock, not paper.
The tiara is created by cutting the pieces out very carefully with a small scrapbooking scissors.
The real tiaras are assembled with very tiny springs.
For a similar effect, the butterflies can be attached with florist's wire. The ends of the wire are bent into little flat circles. First, the wire is sandwiched between the back of the butterfly, and a small piece of Brawny paper towel.
They jiggle a little.
Or, the butterflies can be attached using scrapbooking foam or pieces of paper for a raised effect.
Or, the butterflies can just be glued to the tiara directly.
Then, jewels, pearls, ribbons, etc. can be attached as a final touch. I used one sparkly plastic gem on mine.
(If you assemble and complete one, please show me a photo? I'd love to see how it worked out.)
