Captain Jake

Smuggler "Loquacious Jake" was the first mate of the Millarca under Perrozi's father. He's a lanky black deer with white circles around his eyes. He fights with a cutlass, and between chops and parries, he's apt to lash out with those hooves.

We know Jake is unscrupulous, though he does seem to have some kindness in him. Now that Perrozi's dad is gone, he's become the new captain.

The bottle in his hand holds whiskey; drinking too much is one of Jake's vices. When that happens, he gets a bit jolly, passes out, and can't be woken up for a long while.

There are many mysteries surrounding Jake. Where was he born; where did he come from? Does he know how to do anything besides sailing and carousing? And, why hasn't he told Perrozi exactly what happened to his father...?
